What is Automation Compatible Mail?
It is the most efficient way to send out your Direct Mail. Whether it is presorted
First Class or Standard, it meets the post office requirements for the lowest
available postage rates and quickest delivery time. Automation mail must have a
barcode. [top]

How do I get the Barcodes for my database?
Mass Mailings will process your database through our Postal Approved Software,
which makes it more “Postal Friendly” and applies the barcode to the individual
addresses. [top]
-
How can I update my mailing list with the most current addresses?
Mass Mailings can arrange to have your list cross-referenced with a national
database, to provide Changes-of-address. This will make your mailings more
efficient and help insure that your mail winds up in the right persons hands.

How can I send my list to you?
Data should be provided in a PC compatible format, preferably in DBF or ASCII
delimited. We can accept the lists via e-mail (click here, if you want to send
it now), or on disc or Magnetic tape. [top]

What’s the difference between First Class mail and Standard Mail?
First Class Mail is faster, yet more expensive. It is usually delivered in 1-3
days, by the USPS. Standard Mail (formerly known as Bulk Rate and Third Class
Mail) goes by truck. It is usually received, locally in 5-10 working days, a few
days longer for other parts of the country. You can mail up to 3.3 oz. at the
lowest Standard mail rate and can mail up to 16 oz at the pound rate. Standard
mail should be delivered more quickly if it is Automation Compatible.

How many pieces of mail do I need to send, in order to receive
Postal discounts?
The minimum number of pieces for Standard mail is 200. The minimum for First
Class Presorted is 500. [top]
-
What about Non-Profit Mail?
Non-Profit mail is Standard mail, mailed at an even further discount. If you are
a Non-Profit Group, you may or may not be eligible to use these rates. You must
apply with the post office for Non-Profit Mailing privileges. [top]
-
Do I need my own mailing permit?
No. If you are mailing at commercial rates, you may use our permit, at no
additional charge. You may use our permit number for Non-Profit mail as well, but
you must also have approval from the U.S. Postal Service. We can send the artwork to
your printer, if necessary, to set it up on your mail piece. [top]

When sending material to Mass Mailings, how much extra should I send?
To avoid delays in finishing your job and possible re-setup charges, due to a
shortage of material caused by machine spoilage, or printer shortage, please
send 5-10% overage. Anything that remains unused will be promptly returned to you.

You won’t be selling my mailing list, will you?
We would never even consider it. Your list remains your property and it will
only be released upon your authorization. Incidentally, we are NOT in the list
selling business anyway. However, we may be able to provide the names of some list brokers,
if you are indeed in the market for a mailing list. [top]
